Ignited Minds

Posted on May 17th, 2008 in Book Reviews | No Comments »

I just completed the book Ignited Minds by APJ Abdul Kalam, the president of India. I should say that this book was pretty inspiring. Some sentences give you goose bumps all over! Abdul Kalam talks about the developing India and envisions a developed India in 2020. In some areas of the book he gets too technical with names and acronyms, I skipped a few pages here and there. He has also written about his conversations with the youth and their replies. This book will boost the patriotism in the Indian minds and for others, it gives an idea about how India has been and where it heading.

Bottom Line: India has everything except a high aim in the minds of the youth. As Buddha said “Being moderate is a crime”.

Blend the ads into the content. People are suffering from banner blindness, so they won’t click the ads if they look like ads. Place the ads in the middle of the page. Let the color match the other links in yor website. If the link looks like a title, it will get more click throughs. Do not have any borders. Put ads before the content, in the middle and at the end of the content. People will click a relavent ad after they finish reading the content. AdSense search box can be put in 404 pages. You will get more 404 visits than you think!

How to get content for AdSense sites

Posted on May 6th, 2008 in Google AdSense | No Comments »

Get free content for your website from ArticleCity.com, GoArticles, EzineArticles.com etc. It is legal to copy the article and paste it in your website as long as you give a backlink to the author of the article. You can also get articles from public domain. A famous public domain is Project Gutenberg. To outsource article writing, you can head to RentACoder.com or Elance.com. Last  but not the least, compose your own content. You dont need to literally write the articles, you can use the software - NaturallySpeaking8, which converts your speech to written content.

Michael’s Cheney’s AdSense Videos Summary

Posted on May 6th, 2008 in Google AdSense | No Comments »

I just watched Michael’s Cheney’s AdSense videos and here is what I have got for you.

Mirror Google’s policy to have success with them. Google’s policy is 1. Organising world’s content - do this in your site. 2. Don’t be evil.. follow their TOS, it will benefit you in the long run.

Four main aspects for success with AdSense earnings:
1. Content
2. Keywords
3. Ads (Positioning, color, size et al)
4. Traffic

Some Key Points To Remember:

Choosing where to compete is half your success. The single most important factor for choosing your niche market is to select one that you have passion for. Simply by knowing these 2 things (popularity and competition) gives you the definitive answer on the best content to place on your site. Very less website compete for misspelled keywords. For example: “woof picture frames”. Use wordtracker paid version for finding out how much competitors you have for a particular keyword. One of the best ways to get hold of unique, quality content that you can use with your AdSense ads is to buy existing sites. Don’t use adsense-ready websites because it has duplicate content. If you want to buy one, buy a non-adsense website and add ads.

If you are a starter in making money online, I would recommend you to try this program. Its a simple ‘paid-to-click’ program which pays you a few cents for each ad you click. Something like $0.01 per ad. Alright, I know thats very small amount of money, but the thing here is, you get paid $0.01 for each ad-click made by your referrals. If you refer 10 friends and they click 10 ads per day, that easy $1/day for you without working. Click here to join AdBux.

Now imagine 100 friends, then its $10/day. Scope depends on the number of online friends you have. You need not just refer your friends, you can also market it on other places and get more referrals.

An Idea is worth a Million Dollars

Posted on April 26th, 2008 in Creative Thinking | 1 Comment »

Each of us get some ideas from time to time. These ideas when implemented may make a million dollars in business, but we usually find a number of reasons why the idea won’t work and throw it away. That is because the mind is not ready to take up that task (hmm, a nice way of saying Lazy). What I recommend: Whenever you get an idea, write it down in your journal. This will help you record that idea and also branch out to new ideas.

Technique to Generate New Ideas:

New ideas come by systematic thinking process. Not just by sitting alone and asking you mind to “think, think, think”. I hope you would have heard about the father of lateral thinking - Edward de bono. This great man has developed a set of techniques to use the brain to generate more ideas. I have used his methods to solve relationship problems, drive traffic to my site and develop new business ideas. I strongly recommend you to buy his books if you are interested in improving the quality of your personal and business life.

The internet population and its future scope

Posted on April 24th, 2008 in Marketing | No Comments »

The population of the internet is 1.2 Billion as of now. If all the internet users are put in one country, then it would be the 5th largest country in the world. And we all know that this figure will change dramatically in the upcoming years. This is the best time in history to make sales and make money. Imagine setting up a shop with virtually no office rentals, electricity bills and maintenance charges and selling products to customers within seconds. Awesome!

Whether digital products or tangibles, a day is going to come where 90% of the population don’t go to real world shops to buy things. The 10% is gonna be the people who go window shopping for entertainment and buy something they want but don’t really need.

Internet marketing and sales is going to witness a tremendous growth and its better for all the producers to look at this country called internet and start setting up online shops!
