By yesterday night I finished reading this book And Then There Were None by the famous mystery writer Agatha Christie. I would say that this is the best novel I have ever read, not necessarily the best book. The book is cute, just 275 pages and can be finishe within 2-3 days. I shouldn’t take longer because no one wants to wait for the mystery to be unlocked.
The story is based on a murder plan for 10 people. These ten people are ‘bad people’ but have escaped the law. They come to an island and they get killed themselves by each other through the tactical plot. Who was the murderer and how all the deaths happened is a million dollar question which is answered only in the last 5 pages. Its hard to wait for that area of the book, but there is no choice but to wait all along as you read the story.
I bought this book because it was in the top 10 sold books of all time. This one claimed to be sold more than 100 million copies. From these stats I can come to a conclusion that there couldn’t be extraordinarily better novels than this, this is the threshold point for mystery novels. I guess books can never make it up to the grandeur for a cinema. Anyway, its still good for a 6 - 10 hours of time pass and relaxation.
I would rate this book as 7.5 / 10.
I just read an ebook about making money by selling ebooks. What it basically says is that every ebook is not unique, most of them contain the same information over and over but still there are buyers for the ebook due to the large volume of users on the internet. This point seems true. I have tried to write up a 15 page ebook and have sold it before for $5 per piece in forums. I had made nearly $50 out of it. But if I take it seriously and market it, may be I would have made more money.
You have to write an affective sales page to market your ebook. For tips on writing the sales letter go here. For tips on getting a good domain name go here. I would also recommend you to setup an affiliate program at PayDotCom.com or ClickBank.com so that you can sit back and let the affiliates make the sales for you.
I have not got into this method yet because of lack of time. Try it and let me know if it worked.
I just completed the book Ignited Minds by APJ Abdul Kalam, the president of India. I should say that this book was pretty inspiring. Some sentences give you goose bumps all over! Abdul Kalam talks about the developing India and envisions a developed India in 2020. In some areas of the book he gets too technical with names and acronyms, I skipped a few pages here and there. He has also written about his conversations with the youth and their replies. This book will boost the patriotism in the Indian minds and for others, it gives an idea about how India has been and where it heading.
Bottom Line: India has everything except a high aim in the minds of the youth. As Buddha said “Being moderate is a crime”.
